I was a person who loved to hit snooze, who would stay in bed until the very last second, skip breakfast and get the kids off to school and then myself to the office. Then I would drink all the coffee, never knew how to deal with the stress of the day, and never sleep through the night. I would toss and turn, my mind going crazy, and then fall asleep right before my alarm went off.
Then I learned what my body needed as a daily routine so I could sleep all night, wake up rested, and have more energy to get through the day. Coffee is now just a ritual instead of life support!
I had to change how I ate through the day, which meant no more skipping meals or fasting.
I had to figure out how to manage my stress and emotional states.
I had to break my dependence on coffee and soda.
I had to exercise the way my body needed and stop following a generic program.
I had to use the tools I have like my oils, Healy, therapy, and everything else to change my mindset and beliefs.
Then throw in 2020 in the mix and I had to change everything again.
I used to wake up and my first thoughts were negative, self-deprecating, usually a bunch of BS I made up. Fearful and anxious of the day. Unsure of what I needed or even wanted to do. Trying to manage my energy in little segments so I didn’t get worn down so easily.
Trust me, starting your day with negativity is not a good idea.
It took a lot of work in the years before this to not wake up and have my first thought be “I hate you. You’re not doing anything right…”
It took a lot of work to even convince myself that eating breakfast was a worthy idea. I had to push myself further to take care of my body so I can keep doing the work I love and be with my family.
I had to learn to wipe my slate clean EVERY MORNING and stop bringing the past with me every day. Learning to let go and reset is challenging, especially in business and relationships.
And that’s what it is all about right? Feeling good in your body and mind so you can actually enjoy your life, focus on what is important to you, and not spend time in anxiety and dreading the day.
Now I wake up and my first thoughts are positive and powerful. I feel rested and excited for the day!
Not every morning is perfect, sleep isn’t always perfect, but bringing a new me every day is a game changer.
I am offering a free ‘challenge’ group (really it’s more of a support group) to help you learn the habits that will help you have an amazing morning!
